Colorado Mesa Women and Drury Men Rise to #1 in December CSCAA Rankings

The latest CSCAA rankings are in, and there’s been a shake-up in the Division II dual meet standings, with both the men’s and women’s categories seeing new #1s. On the women’s side, Colorado Mesa made a major leap from #6 to claim the top spot, while Drury took the crown on the men’s side, moving up from #3.

For Colorado Mesa, this rise to #1 means they’ve successfully swapped places with Grand Valley, who dropped from #1 to #6 after holding the top spot for several months. The Colorado Mesa women’s team was second at the 2024 NCAA Championships, with 461.5 points, just 25.5 points behind Nova Southeastern, who slipped from #4 to #5 in this month’s rankings.

The Lynn women had the biggest jump, vaulting from #19 to #10. And with that, six teams found themselves in the rankings for the first time this season. McKendree, which entered at #17, led the way in the new arrivals.

On the men’s side, Drury’s climb to the #1 spot was fueled by a strong performance at last year’s NCAA Championships, where they placed second with 409 points, finishing behind Tampa, who held onto their #2 position. McKendree, last month’s #1 team, slipped down to #6.

There was also some movement in the top 25 as three new teams made their debut, with Lynn making the biggest splash at #15. Florida Southern showed impressive improvement, jumping from #21 to #16.
